Books and Dragons (part one)

Today I am showing you a collection of mine. It's pretty much books, figurines, and random objects arranged in an appealing way.
It's my bookshelf.

(Click the pictures to make them bigger)
This is the whole thing. Only two shelves, because the rest of the bookcase is taken up with my Mom's books.

The bottom shelf. I'll do the top shelf in part two.

Some of these pictures are not the best quality, but it was the best I could do. My phone camera is very far from professional. You should see my lighting setup.
(It consists of me standing on a chair with a desk lamp in one hand and my phone in the other so that the picture isn't grainy while trying not to hit my head on the ceiling. I was completely expecting someone to walk in while I was taking these and ask me what the heck I was doing.)

There are a lot of things in this picture. First, the line of small objects. There are several tiny clocks, a dime, an earring, a safety pin, a tiny set of keys, a pressed penny, a glow-in-the-dark rock, a shell. They are Glenn's treasures. Glenn is the green dragon.
Then there is the bottle of sand that I made at daycamp. The clear thing is an hourglass of sorts with colored water instead of sand. I'll zoom in on the bench in a minute.

Books in this picture, left to right:
Are you there God? It's me, Margret by Judy Blume
The Tale of Desperaux by Kate DiCamillo
Peter and the Starcatchers by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson
The Fledgeling by Jane Langton
Swordbird by Nancy Yi Fan (she wrote this when she was 12!! If you haven't read it you should)
The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann
The Sight from the Warriors series by Erin Hunter
The One And Only (a Maryellen classic) by Juliana Kolesova
Out Of The Dust (which I have not read, I stole it from Allie so my books wouldn't fall over)
Best Stories of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle
The Color of Water by James McBride
You Did What? by (a collection of comical mistakes throughout history)
The Disappearing Spoon by Sam Kean (an amazing nonfiction, 10/10)
Heidi by Johanna Spyri
Homecoming by Cynthia Voigt
Pygmalion by Bernard Shaw (an old play but it's interesting)

That was a lot of books. I recommend them all.

In this picture we have three marshmallow-cats I made from clay. Their names are S'more, Marshie, and Frosting.
The tiny leaf is real. It's also adorable.
The gnome is unnamed. Mr. Penguin is a Littlest Pet shop who belongs to Allie but lives on my shelf anyway.

This is Tyler, also known as TJ. He went missing for a while, but he is very much alive. He plays soccer.

Books in this picture, left to right:
The Bible
Icefire by Chris D'lacy (dragons!!! I love this book)
Fire Star, also by Chris D'lacy (the next in the series)
Warriors: The Ultimate Guide by Erin Hunter (a guide to almost all the characters in the Warriors series. It has great art)
If Pigs Could Fly by Bruce Lansky (a book of silly poems that my grandmother gave me)

Then we have my random-slips-of-paper album, a folder with loose artwork, and my sketchbook.

My Mockingjay pin and the cat Charlie gave me for Christmas. It was supposed to hang on the edge of a flowerpot, but since I don't have a flowerpot I hung him on a book instead.
The pencil case in the corner is where I keep my charcoal pencils, earbuds, and other things I don't want Mr. Turtle to get into.

This wraps up part one. Part two is already written and will be posted Sunday, but it would have made this post too long.
Did you enjoy the three day weekend? I did.
